Apple Butter Tartlets 

Recipe Name: Apple-Butter Tartlets

Serving Size: 2 Dozen

1/2 Cup(s) shortening

3/4 Cup(s) sugar

2 Whole eggs

2 Tbsp(s). heavy cream

1 tsp(s). vanilla extract

2 1/2 Cup(s) all purpose flour

1/4 tsp(s). baking soda

1/4 tsp(s). salt

Thick apple butter

Directions:

1. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.

Beat in eggs,then cream and vanilla extract.

Mix flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture.

Chill at least 1 hour.

2. Preheat oven to 350’.

3. Roll out to 1/8 inch thickness on floured surface.

Cut with large round cutter.

Place rounded teaspoon apple butter on each half of the rounds.

Make small holes in remaining rounds and place over filled rounds.

Press edges together with fork.

4. Place 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets and cool on wire racks.
